French Scholarships

Grants and scholarships are generally administered by different organizations. For details, you may consult the Cultural, Scientific and Technical Section of the French Embassy in Delhi or the Alliance Francaise Centers elsewhere. Some of these are also offered by the Indian Government. For details you may contact University Grants Commission.

Scholarships are also granted by international and non-government organizations. For an overview consult the UNESCO brochure ‘Study Abroad’,
what are the possibilities of financing your studies? If you desire to study in France, you can take advantage of different types of grants allocated by diverse organization to finance a study plan.
Three Types of grants exist:
a) Grants offered by the French government and managed by different organization. These grants are awarded directly by the French institution on the basis of merit (e.g.Programme EIFFEL).
b) Grants distributed in the student’s home country by governmental or non-governmental organizations to those wishing to study abroad. To learn if it is possible to benefit from this type of financing, you should contact those organizations likely to offer this type of grant.
c) Grants accorded by international organization and non-governmental organizations (foundations, Associations, etc.).To learn more about the nature of this kind of aid and the criteria to be met, you should contact directly the concerned institutions or ask advice from any of the “EduFrance” or” Alliance Francaise” outlets in India which will advise you on the best way to get some kind of incentives to study in France. In any case, according to the quality of your academic record, an officer of the cultural section of the embassy will provide you with tips on the way to get incentives.

Bourses d’ excellence Eiffel [Eiffel Excellence Grants]
Eiffel scholarships are awarded to foreign students for preparation in France of a master’s degree in any one of these areas: engineering, economics-management,law,political science.
About 400 scholarships are awarded each year. Value: Students are paid on monthly allowance of 1,000 Euros along with health coverage; round trip travel expense, medical expenses plus access to cultural activities. More details
Bourses d’ excellence Major (Major Excellence Grants)

Grants from the College de Medicine des Hopitaux de Paris for foreign doctors living in France. Each year, in partnership with the Public Assistance Hospitals of Paris (AH-HP), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs offers one-year grants to young foreign doctors chosen by the College de Medicine des H6pitaux de Paris (CMHP).Candidates must be under 35 years of age and have a qualification level at least equivalent to a fourth-year internship in the Paris public-assistance hospital system.More details
