NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS for study in (Indian Universities)
Course of study: Undergraduate, Postgraduate,Diplomas
The scheme, since its inception, is disbursing/granting National; Scholarships on merit for higher studies in Arts/Science/Engineering/Medicine/Agricualture/Law/Commerce/Education,etc.in recognized educational institutions in India. The Registrars of Universities/Secretaries of Education Boards furnish and allocate data in regard to the number of student appeared and passed in various examinations in prescribed preformed by the end of September each year.
Eligibility: the awards under the scheme are made on the basis of results of following examinations:
(i) School leaving examinations i.e. Matriculation/High School/Indian School Certificate;
(ii) 12th class of 10+2 pattern/PUC/Intermediate.
(iii) 1st Degree examination i.e.BA/BSc/BCom (Pass/Hons) and 1st degree professional examinations i.e. Bed and LLB
(iv) Indian nationals who secured 60% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination and passed in the same year of award of scholarship are eligible for award
(v) Persons in full time employment to in receipt of any other scholarship/ stipend or studying on part-time basis/privately are not eligible.
(vi) Scholarships for Postgraduate studies are sanctioned without consideration of the income of the parents of the candidates. In case of undergraduate/diploma courses the scholarship is offered to those candidates whose parent’s income is note more than Rs.25, 000 per annum.
Tenability: A scholarship under the scheme is tenable from the year it is made. The scholarship is tenable for the next cause of study and not for any equivalent course. In the case of engineering/medicine studies, the scholarship is tenable for the first degree. Award is not given/renewed for PhD/Research studies.
Selection: Selection is strictly on merit bais.The scholarship is renewable from year to year within the same of education and the renewal depends on promotion to the next class 50% aggregate marks.
Amount of scholarship’s Rs 60-300/-pm depending on the course of study.
