Physics Association Scholarship

 INDIAN PHYSICS ASSOCIATION: IPA Physics Talent QUEST for Undergraduate & Postgraduate Students.
 Objective: The objective of this association is to arouse interest in Physics among the undergraduates and to identify potential Research Workers, Managers, Educationist, and Communicators
Eligibility: Any undergraduate/postgraduate student studying in a recognized college is eligible to participate in this contest in which there are no examinations. Students have to participate in a number of activities and collect certain points over a period of minimum three months. Students collecting 33 or pore point are considered for awards
Selection Process: Student with a mentor for him/her at least through the completion of college years. Students have to participate in the following categories of the activities: (Each activity carries maximum of 10 points).Activities 1 and 2 are compulsory and from Groups1,II and IV students are required to select one group. From these, top’50’ students are invited to Mumbai for presentation of their work. National Committee makes every effort to provide each award winner
 1. Experimental skills/Physics experiments: student has to design and perform a novel experiment or submit a project (Experimental not theoretical). Minimum 5 points to be obtained to qualify for awards (Max.points 10)
 2. Physics Theory: student has to submit and make a presentation on a topic chosen by him/her.(10 minutes duration.). Minimum 5 points is to be obtained to qualify for awards. (Max.points 10)
3. IPA Activities: Student has to attend a lecture under IPA programme (2 points) and organize IPA programme in the college (8 points student can take up either of the following activities.
 Group 1. Laboratory and class room Management:
 (A) Student should briefly describe his plants for a good lab and its working. In addition he has to give his plan for modifying his present lab and lecture theatre.(Max.points 10)
 (B) Work out a time-table (Theory,Practicals,Tests and exams.) for your class so that it cover the course during the academic year and also test the progress of student continuously.(Max.Points 10 ) OR
Group II.PhysicsEducation(A) Student has to frame a syllabus (Theory and Experiments)for physics being taught in his/her precious year class. He should clearly mention goals and objectives as well as how it should be implemented.(Max.points 10)
(B)Take physics class for any U.G.class.Submit the synopsis of the lesson you have taken along with the details of preparations-time required ,books referred etc.(Max.points 10)OR
Group III.Physics Communication(A) (a) Student has to submit any one of the following (i) a script for Radio Talk,(ii) TV presentation,(iii) Newspaper article (iv) Public leture.(5 points). (b) Interview a Physicist (5 Points)
(B) Student should use any art or fine art medium to present physics theme or physics principle.(Max. points 10)OR
Group IV.Physics Research(A) Select a field in Physics relating to your neighborhood (e.g. prinnergy,Floods,Environment,Materials,Electric power,Services (e.g.transport.)Stc.)and suggest appropriate solution. (Max.points 10)
Students are evaluated on their submissions and performances.each Area Co-ordinator will select top TWO (One boy,one girl)students from each group.Top 50 student w3ill be invited for presentation of their work in Mumbai and top 4 students (2 boys and 2 girls)from each group will be awarded prizes.All participants will receive participation certificate.
 Medium-English .The decision of the National committee is final on all matters and no queries is entertained
Registration fee is Rs.50%-only (Subject to change) There is no special registration form. Students should send their applications for registration on a plain paper giving following particulars:
(i) Full Name and address, Dates of birth , and E-mail ID, Phone member and Class in which studying at the time of Registration
(ii) Name of the college and address along with E-mail ID and Phone number
(iii) Name of the Principle
(iv) Name of Head,Deptt.of physics along with DD for Rs.50/-(Subject to Change)drawn in favour of Indian Physics Association Mumbai, be sent to IPA central office. Complete address given below:
