nter University Centre for Bioscience, under Kannur University, has offered Janakiammal-Vainu Bappu Scholarship for MSc students.
Janakiammal-Vainu Bappu Scholarship offered by the Inter University Centre for Bioscience (IUCB) is a six months fellowship to meet the out-station expenses of students, offered to five post graduate students (preferably one for Kannur University, two for other universities in Kerala and two for universities outside Kerala) for research work as part of their MSc curriculum. The research may be in the field of Target-Ligand Interaction concerning Ethnobotany and Traditional Health Care Practices. Essentially it may be on phytocompounds and their targets in diseases, producing cure/relief. Primarily the scholarship is awarded to systematically investigate the role of herbs in traditional medicine at molecular level. The value of the fellowship is Rs 3000/ per month plus the complete laboratory expenses.
