SCHOLARSHIPS,FOR POST-MATRIC STUDIES IN ‘HINDI’ TO STUDENTS FROM NON-HINDI SPEAKING STATES
 Level of study:PUC/ Intermediate, Undergraduate ,MA,Pre-PhD/MLitt/ PhD (with Hindi)
Member of Scholarships:2,500
Value:Re.50-125 pm depending upon the course of study
Objective :the main objective of the scheme is to encourage study of Hindi in non-Hindi speaking states and to  make available to the Governments of these states, suitable personal for teaching and other posts where knowledge of Hindi is essential
duration: the scholarship is renewed from year to year provided the scholar passes in Hindi,secutres promotion to the next higher class and Hindi continues to be part of the course of study in the next higher class. The period of scholarship for PhD is 2/3 years
Eligibility:
 (i) The scholarships under the Scheme are awarded for the following recognized full time course of education for study of Hindi as one of the subjects on the basis of result of examination.
(a) Pre-University/Intermediate
 (b) Full-time courses in Hindi examinations conducted by Hindi Voluntary Organizations
 (c) Training courses for Hindi Teacher’s Training College or Hindi Voluntary Organizations
 (d) First Degree (Pass/Honours with Hindi)
 (e) MA (Hindi/MPhil/MLitt/PhD (Hindi)
(ii) The candidates whose mother tongue is not Hindi and who belong to any of the following States/Union Territories are eligible for scholarship
Andhra Pradesh,Assam,Gujart,Jammu and Kashmir ,Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra,Manipur,Meghalaya ,Nagaland,Orissa,Punjab, Sikkim,Tamil Nadu,Tripura,West Bengal, Andaman and Nicobar Island,Arunachal Pradesh, Chandigarh,Dadar and Nagar Haveli,Goa,Daman and Diu,Lakshadweep,Mizorm and Pondicherry.
 Following categories of candidates are not eligible for the award: residing in a Hindi Speaking State for more than 5 years;
(b) Candidates in employment (Full or part time)unless they are sponsored by the State Government/UT Administration;
(c) Candidates who wish to pursue their studies through correspondence/ private;
 (d) Candidates who are preparing for two courses simultaneously unless Hindi is one;
 Scholars studying for PhD course can be permitted to accept remuneration for teaching; if it is a part of study/research
Selection: Selection is made by the non-Hindi Speaking State govets/UT Administration on the basis of merit determined by the percentage of aggregate marks obtained in the qualifying exam. Candidates who are in employment and are sponsored by the State Govt are given preference.
 How to Apply: Application forms are supplied to non-Hindi Speaking State Governments by the prescribed date. Voluntary Hindi Organizations are required to send applications to the State Govts/UT Adman concerned. Institutions conducting courses of Voluntary Hindi Organinsation should submit applications through parent body.
